Many Christians today are sinking because of heresies and unawareness, incase you are part of them, you need to read this and have better understanding of what to do
Somebody said", I am Christian but I didn't see any wrong having a boy friend in fact dating him since I am not defiling the bed.
Come to think about it, is there any difference between "dating and courting"? Absolutely Yes. Courtship begin immediately God confirmed both of you to be husband and wife and it shouldn't take longer time. Courtship is meant for marriageable people and not immature youths. what about dating? Meaning of dating?
Dating is a stage of romantic relationships in humans whereby two people meet socially with the aim of each assessing the other's suitability as a prospective partner in an intimate relationship... Wikipedia
"A stage of romantic" relationship, God is against romantic relationship between unmarried youths according to His word " Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."..That's just looking and he lust after her but this is without touching the woman and the Bible says he had already committed a sin in his heart but stage of romantic relationship even involve touching which is against the word of God.
Do not be deceived, you don't need to sleep with that brother or sister you are dating before you commit a sin, maybe you are saying “I do not defile my bed since I do not go to his house”, I do not allow him to touch me, but we are just close friends and you are dating each other...This practice is common among youths in the secondary schools or Universities.
Some sisters claim to be Christian but they need companionships and they made brothers as their companion. I will want us to consider this picture below
If we have a circle and in the midst of that circle we have a sister at the center of the circle then we also have a brother moving round the circle( circumference ) frequently without a stop, I want to tell you, if the sister didn't plan to call the brother to enter into the circle where she was, but because this brother was moving round the circle without a stop, the sister will not know when she would invite him to the center. No matter how determined the sister is, if the brother remains at the circumstances, the sister will easily invite the brother to the center
What are we saying? Do you understand the picture. There is no way you are dating or having an opposite sex as your intimate friends without you falling in love with the person even though both of you knew yourself as just friends or just dating for future purpose. It is a pity that many so called Christians chose their life partners by becoming friends to each other and this could be for longer time and for that reason such intimacy would make them to ignore praying to God to know if they are compatible in fact if someone told them to pray about it, they will be getting positive answers since they are attached to each other already.
Lust is a sin and nothing changes that. 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
You may have some case studies of some set of youths who actually experienced long-time friendship with opposite sex which they eventually married but do not forget this…Some of these marriages have problems have after the marriage, you may be seeing them shinning but if they could uncover their clothes you will know that they are only enduring not enjoying their marriages.
We are all sent to this world to do the will of the father that’s why Adam was given this responsibility from the beginning but he disappointed God by disobeying Him and pleasing satan.
Finally, the Bible says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…
